Booking Your Visit

It’s pretty easy to book a school visit!

If you’re coming to the centre for a self-guided educational visit or one of educational workshops, just fill in the contact form below and we’ll take all your details and then send you a follow up email with a quote and booking form.

If you’d like to have one (or more) of our education workshops, take a look at what we offer in the Key Stage links.

When you’ve completed the booking form, please email it to us at [email protected] or pop it in the post to:

Hemsley Conservation Centre, Crabtree Close, Fairseat, Kent, TN15 7JL

We’ll confirm the booking back to you, once we’ve received the form.

We Should Just Say.....

It’s a condition of booking that we have the name of the Group Leader and a mobile contact for them whilst at the centre.

Also, if you decide to cancel the workshops once we’ve received your booking form, we do reserve the right to charge for these if we are unable to re-fill the sessions.

Pre Visit Information

We know how important it is to organise your school visits down to the smallest detail.

As well as planning your trip, to make sure you visit the wildlife you’ve been discussing in class, you’ll also want to know a whole host of other important information!

We offer free pre-visits to teachers so that all the planning can be done in advance and you can relax and enjoy the visit with your pupils.

We allow a pre-visit for two teachers. All you have to do is email us on [email protected] to arrange your visit.

You’ll be admitted free of charge. Relatives and friends are, of course, welcome to join you but we’re sorry – the pre-visit form only entitles the teacher bringing a school to a complimentary visit.

Health & Safety

Please email [email protected] if you would like a copy of our school visit risk assessment.

Educational Terms & Conditions

Bookings available for UK and international schools, exclusively Mon-Fri during UK school term time only. If your class is visiting outside of UK term time you may be eligible to book with our groups discount. See our admissions page for more details.

Bookings must be made in advance for classes to be eligible for the school rates.

Payment for an education visit must be made at least two weeks in advance of the visit and can be made by credit card, cheque or BACs. If payment cannot be made until the day of the visit, payment is accepted by card, cash or cheque only.

As a condition of the entry costs for school visits, Teachers and accompanying adults must supervise their groups at all times during their visit. We offer one free adult per six paying primary school students and one free adult per ten paying secondary students to ensure adequate supervision for school groups.

Adults leading school groups are expected to follow the supervision guidelines and behaviour expectations set out by the HCC. These guidelines can be found here (Coming Soon). Any failure to follow these guidelines can result in a group being asked to leave the HCC and school management being contacted.

If you amend your booking, cancel or no show on the day of your visit, the HCC reserves the right to charge an administration fee of £20.

Education prices cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, promotion, discounts or third party payment methods. Membership cards can be used but they will not count towards the free adult ratio for supervision purposes.

Education groups must make a single payment for their visit.

For every class booked in to visit the Zoo, we allow one free pre-visit for the teacher. If your booking is for multiple classes, we allow one free pre-visit for each class as part of the booking.

Education Workshops

Education sessions cost £1.50 per pupil per session.

A minimum payment of £22.50 (15 pupils) applies for the education sessions.

Specific sessions have a maximum number of pupils allowed due to capacity of learning spaces and health and safety requirements. Please check in advance.
